Replacing ClickUp in Chicago.
Chicago teams that bought ClickUp's one-app promise usually call us at the point where utilization and profitability are being answered in a spreadsheet anyway. We build the system that replaces the workspace, narrower on purpose and owned by your company. We set up and supported ClickUp for years for agencies and small technical teams, never as a partner. Our focus is replacing ClickUp.
Who this is for, in Chicago
Chicago teams that bought the one-app promise and got configuration sprawl. Custom statuses in every space, ClickApps toggled differently in each corner, metered automations, and reporting that can't see across spaces. So utilization and profitability end up in a spreadsheet anyway.
The work, in order
What replacing ClickUp looks like from Chicago
Audit
We read the workspace before we build. Which spaces and lists actually carry activity, which ClickApps are on and why, which automations still fire against the plan's cap, and what the statuses mean in each list, because they differ. The audit tells us whether your problems are configuration or the product's own ceilings. Configuration is a job for a ClickUp partner or your admin, and we'll say so. Ceilings are what we build past.
Migration
ClickUp's export and API cover tasks, custom fields, docs, comments and time entries. The trap is that statuses and fields differ from space to space, so the mapping has to be agreed space by space and never assumed globally. We run a test import and reconcile the counts with you before anything gets retired.
Build
The replacement gets built while ClickUp keeps running, and it imports on a schedule. Rates and budgets that lived in a sheet beside ClickUp get rebuilt inside the system, so tracked time and the money it represents finally sit in one place. Cutover waits on the counts and the reports agreeing. A finished build on its own doesn't trigger it.
Handover
After cutover there is no tier ladder, no automation meter, and no guest cap. The code, the database and the hosting are in your name from day one. Handover is documentation, training by role over video, and administrator access you can remove. An optional support plan covers the system we built, with no tiers.
Our focus
Our focus is replacing ClickUp. If what your Chicago team really needs is ClickUp working better, not replaced, we'll say so on the first call rather than sell you a build. What we build is the system that replaces it.
Why teams here leave ClickUp
Every ClickUp feature is a switch, and every switch has settings. A workspace tuned by an enthusiastic admin turns into a maze for everyone else. Add metered automations, the useful views sitting one tier up, and reporting that stops at dashboards over built-in fields. The team quietly goes back to spreadsheets and the bill keeps coming.
The work
We are based in Clearwater, Florida, with no Chicago office, and we say that plainly. Chicago clients get what our remote clients everywhere get. Discovery with the people who are inside the workspace daily, a written scope, working screens early, and a handover with every account in your name.
Questions Chicago companies ask
What people ask about leaving ClickUp in Chicago
Are you a ClickUp partner?
No, and we never have been. We set up and supported ClickUp for years for agencies and small technical teams, and that experience is what the advice rests on. If your workspace needs pruning and nothing more, that's what we'll tell you, along with who should do it.
Can you fix our workspace without replacing it?
That isn't our focus. Standardizing statuses, cutting unused ClickApps and consolidating views is real work, and it usually belongs with a ClickUp partner or your own admin. The honest test is whether your problems are configuration or the product's own ceilings, the metered automations and capped guests and the cross-space reporting that doesn't exist. We point you at someone for the first. We build past the second.
What happens to our time tracking history?
It comes with you. Time entries pull through the API along with tasks, custom fields, docs, and comments, dates intact. Billing rates and budgets usually live in a sheet beside ClickUp, which is the normal pattern. We rebuild that sheet's logic into the new system, so the tracked time and the real record finally sit in one place.
